Old World Weavers Tells a Story With Its New Wallcovering Collection

Fabrics & Home celebrates Old World Weavers’ new fabric and wallcovering collection, Woodland Estate. Imagine the beauty of a Connecticut retreat, created by architect and interior designer David Easton, turned into a treasury of décor options, colorful and splendid, and full of enough embroidered whimsy that it will “make a room dance,” as the late Easton often said.

Botany Bay Wallcovering takes its inspiration from the company’s 19th  century English print of pheasants poised on a branch, and expands the design to decorate wallpaper in six colors (Perennial Garden, Sky Multi, Porcelain, Forest, Jade and Black Ruby).

Fabrics

The cut-velvet fabrics in Tails Tale show the wonder of the woods and the flora and fauna that live there, and works well for upholstery (three colorways).

Ridge Edge showcases a more verdant look, a tapestry of the forest’s foliage using a washed treatment effect (available in wool and cotton).

Timberlake Velvet softens a traditional stripe through an ombré progression and coordinates with the collection’s prints and wovens for layering (six colorways).

Hillside Crewel uses a lighter embroidery for a multidimensional look with a Jacobean feel (three colorways).

Lilette Sheer stitches floral vines onto silk, cotton and linen sheer with colored and metallic yarns (four colorways).
