Inspired by an unmistakable beauty and allure of the South of France, the French General line of fabric evokes a simple sophistication that is vintage yet contemporary. Encompassing a full line of furnishings, the French General collection includes textiles, trimmings and wallcoverings. A variety of prints, woven, embroideries and stripes created with an eye towards authenticity. Cotton and linen trimmings with accents of jute and wool complete the appeal of the simple country home.
Linen and cotton fibers are the focus of the French General collection. These natural textiles create the look of authenticity. The line uses a trio of colors as its base: rouge, bleu and bisque. From this simple palette of hues, a range of styles are created. Different weights of linen and cotton further the choices available in developing a signature feel. Pre-washing allows a vintage look that completes the look of rural elegance.
Kaari Meng began French General in a rustic barn in the gorgeous Hudson River Valley of New York, 15 years ago. Yearly trips to France, Kaari stocked her shop with classic floral and striped ticking fabrics as well as traditional linen and hemp sheets. Kaari teamed up with Fabricut Fabrics to create a line that furthered her grand vision of country living in the South of France.
