Sandberg Wallpaper's Hebarium Embraces the Beauty of the World's Flowers and Plants
Botanical wallpaper is a perennial favorite. Perhaps our interest in the biophilic design comes from the ever-encroaching urban landscape we engage with daily. Images of leaves, florals and nature captivate us — whether we use the wallcovering for a statement wall or as an ever-present representation of nature in our home.
Sandberg’s Herbarium collection offers a transformative ability, allowing your décor to become a calming respite, a lively tropical space or a place of elegance with delicate flowers and nature-inspired motifs.
“We embrace botany's inherent beauty and precision, combining it with the unique Swedish Wallpaper Art that defines Sandberg Wallpaper,” said Sandra Willund, creative director of Sandberg Wallpaper on its website. “Each design is a reflection of the past, made for modern living spaces.”
Herbarium curates traditional global botanical designs and reimagines them into vibrant wallpaper, merging large-scale motifs with engaging details, as Sandberg described on their website, “Swedish botanical heritage enriched by global influences.”
The collection (Available in Mattic, Peel & Stick and Commercial Grade versions) includes:
Tree of Life Mural
This fun, hand-painted tree impishly intertwines an array of fruit into its colorful design. The mural takes its inspiration from plants from Plantae Selectae, an 18th-century publication containing drawings from botanical artist Georg Dionysius Ehret. Designed by Karolina Kroon, the pattern comes in five colorways (Sage Green, Multi, Light Blue, Pink and Dark Blue). Photo shows Tree of Life Mural in Multi.

Flora
Flora also finds inspiration in the extraordinary hand-colored sheets from Ehret’s pivotal 1773 book, displaying the botanical design almost as individual pages to maximize its vintage appeal.
Designed by Studio Sandberg, Flora comes in three colorways (Sepia, Green and Blue). Photo shows Flora in Sepia.

Louise
Imagine a trellis containing the beautiful delicacy of Lily of the Valley and Twinflower, intermixed with Poet’s Narcissus and Vetch. This lovely lattice brings your flower garden indoors so you can enjoy it all year round. Designed by Sara Bergqvist, Louise comes in three colorways (Clay, Pastel and Dark). Photo shows Louise in Dark.

Beatrice
Beatrice transforms the typical textile stripe into a trailing floral vine that is inspired by an early 1900s Italian design. Created by Studio Sandberg, Beatrice is available in four colorways (Dusty Pink, Misty Blue, Blue and Light Green). Photo shows Beatrice in Blue.

Celeste Mural
Taking its inspiration from a 19th-century textile, Celeste Mural places birds perched in a verdant bamboo grove. Designed by Studio Sandberg, Celeste comes in four colorways (Blue, Beige, Green and Red). Photo shows Celeste Mural in Red.

Ottilia
This bold pattern creates an airy field of Sophora plumes, Acacia seed pods and cascading Lungwort bells, all painted in ink strokes making for a dynamic yet delicate picture. Designed by Karolina Kroon, Ottilia is available in three colorways (Misty Blue, Olive Green and Green). Photo shows Ottilia in Olive Green.
